Question rather than comment

Academics know their own meaning for Jihad. Islamists know their meaning of Jihad. The pundits have their own version as does Dr. Pipes.

Tell us, please, about the man on the 'Arab Steet'. After millenia of teaching about Jihad, what does the shopkeeper in Bahrain, the cobbler in Baghdad, the street cleaner in Oman and the boy or girl wearing an explosive belt in Ramallah think about their meaning for Jihad?

The academics only can speak to a few, the mullahs think they are speaking to all, but what lesson and difinition is finally found?
