Indonesia was not always Muslim. Indonesia was a land of Hindu culture and the hundreds of ruins of temples in Java and other islands testify to that. That culture has now shrunk to only on the island of Bali where the last attack took place. One of the reasons for selecting Bali given was that most of the native indonesians that would die will be non-Muslims!
