Hitler as Christian is a Myth

This is a reply to Noel from Jakarta.

First, let me agree with your main point, that no religion should be judged by bad people who claim to belong to it. But Hitler was not a Catholic, as many people think, nor a Christian at all. Please do not perpetuate this myth. What he really believed in was a sort of Nordic/Teutonic paganism, with a strong streak of Occultism. But more than anything that could be called religious, he believed in Aryan supremacy--and especially the supremacy of Adolf Hitler.

By the way. as for Milosevic, he would have called himself a Christian, but this was mostly for demagagic effect. He mostly believed in power for the Serbs--and especially power for Slobodan Milosevic. (I feel obliged to point out that Slobo was not in Hitler's class, in terms of death numbers.)

Meanwhile, Noel, if you are working to strengthen a peaceful and loving version of Islam, and opposing those who advocate violence, here is one Christian who wishes you long life and success.
