Reader comment on item: A Million Moderate Muslims on the March
in response to reader comment: Susan, the point I was making...

" If we are to join together in a common cause to rid the world of extremism and terrorism, we must approach the table with some sort of civility and tact."

with the nazis did we use civility and tact? with the japanese? I would use the same "tact" we used on hiroshima if that's what you mean. You cannot approach the table with animals howling behind the table.

"Where do you think Americans, Canadians, and yes, Israelis came from? To deny that simple fact speaks volumes as to the quality of Israel's schooling."

I am not israeli so I don't know what you mean. Americans and canadians are not native of those lands, but pretty much all of europe is, and your point is?

Palestinians are there just because israel is there, if there wasn't israel, those people will be starving and murdering each other in jordan, syria and egypt.

"I only find it remarkable that nation at war since its beginning has had no public judicial cases about the actions of its soldiers."

In italy, a couple of american soldiers never went to trial for murdering 12 italians with their plane because our leftist goverment at that time decided it was better to require back an italian political terrorist in USA jail. Bill Clinton, always aiming to praise his lefty friends, released a woman that was sentenced to 40 years for terrorism in USA.

So you can see my friend, that there are PLENTY of examples when guilty people don't pay because of whatever reason.

"Yes, the Bible and the Torah have been reinterpreted over time. I agree. But I also must point out that they were reinterpreted by the followers of these selfsame religions."

because according to their own scriptures, IT WAS POSSIBLE, according to the koran, it's NOT possible. Isn't this a stong enough EVIDENCE to stop COMPARING apples and oranges.

"As for the roots of Western law I think you will find many of our laws have ties to the Bible "

don't know, many laws in italy comes from the old ROMAN CIVIL CODE. The romans have been pagans.

The romans like it or not conditioned the whole fate of europe.

"In America funding religious organizations is seen as part of our freedom of religion and speech. I plan to continue to give to any group I consider worthy of my support. However, I do not support any group or organization that promotes violence."

violence is imposing sharia with numbers. Sharia is modern apartheid, why we fought so much apartheid in south africa if we are letting sharia in our lands? Oh well, because in S. Africa it was WHITE people doing that.

"While I depise nazism, I must point out that only two countries have laws against its practice. (Germany and Israel) I believe these laws were written and enforced for good reason."

which is still better than nothing, and beside laws against it, there is the overall attitude of the country. If you spew anti-semitic stuff you have to resign from office because they are forcing you in one way or another, your political career ends there, except if you are a communist anti-semitic being the mayor of london, in that case you are praised and given only a 30 day absence permit.

"Susan, in closing I'd like to say that my particular point of view is shaped by the freedoms I've always enjoyed as an American. I know that in other parts of the world people are not allowed to see the gray between black and white. "

it you fall into the relativist trap, I repeat my last sentence of the previous post. To me the gray area could be satanists burning down your house. I might find justification for it. All in the name of the gray area. I might try to talk to them when you are collecting the pieces of your home all in the name of the mighty gray area.
