"MelM, you're right. I would add that the Turkish army not only protects Turkiye's freedoms but also indirectly prevents monarchists/fascists from taking power in Greece. The last two times (1922 and 1973) the Greeks flirted with monarchy and fascism and tried to genocide the Turks of Anatolia and Cyprus respectively, their military suffered humiliating defeats at the hands of the Turkish army, resulting in the overthrow of the Greek monarchy and the fascist junta. It's an experience Greeks would not like to repeat, one hopes. As much as they'd like to deny it, the Greeks have the Turkish military to thank for *their* republic as well :)"

typical turk suprematist ignorant of his own history. It's you turks killing greeks in cyprus and destroying churches. Don't forget it. You turks brought nothing other than distruction in europe. Greeks have only to damn you for their problems.

Turk military is nothing but a military dictatorship. You are not a democracy, you just want to murder the few christians and jews still on anatolian territory without foreign press making you accountable. Hypocrites.
