Reader comment on item: A Million Moderate Muslims on the March

Submitted by Yuval Brandstetter MD (Israel), May 8, 2007 at 15:58

Turkey has been secular for eighty years. so that s no great trick. Turks are not Arabs, just as Persians are not Arabs, and Pakistanis are converted Indians.

But Moderate Arab Islam? It may exist, but never able to dominate the radical Islamists. Arabs always go for the most ruthless, the most dominating, the most murderous regime. Give Arabs the vote and what do you get? HAMAS. Give Arabs the choice of name, what do you get? Ussama, the mass murderer. But let us strike a deal. If moderate Muslims are your favorite dish, please take two million moderate Muslims from the Holy Land to Arkansas, and let the Jews deal with the islamists left over.
