I am not talking about full European membership since she is only partly in Europe. However 1000,000 people took to the streets recently in protest by its Government's attempts to move towards Islamism. The Turkish Army is paranoid about Islamism. They will never allow Islamism back into Turkey. The Turkish Army are sworn protectors of Ataturk the founder of modern secularist Turkey. She has also been a faithful member of NATO for years!

As for stating that 'We need Turkey like a hole in the head!' you could not be more wrong!' I have lived in these societies and Turkey especially is European in atmosphere. This does not mean allowing it into Europe. international Politics and strategy is about hegemony. My fear is that if we do not continue to support Turkey as we have done through NATO, she will be pushed into the hands of the extremists.

By the way I have no sympathy for Islam. The religion is oppressive, violent and primitive. However by dividing one Middle East Nation against another, we can preserve our independence and assist those like Turkey to resist the Islamist in their midst! At present the Islamists are utilisng 'Divide and Rule' through the compliant Western Marxist 'Useful Idiots' riddled with guilt complexes to undermine the West. We need to turn the tables.

Perhaps you might like to consider an Islamist theocracy in Turkey an even bigger 'hole in the head' Aristotle maybe a Greek name but not everybody in Greece is called Aristotle!
