Good news from Canada ! ! !

Reader comment on item: Resisting Islamic Law

Submitted by Phil Greend (Canada), Jun 29, 2008 at 23:22

The islamists in Canada who were attempting to misuse the law to limit free speech in Canada have lost !

Macleans magazine (similar to Time magazine in Canada) published an article about islam.

It was a stern piece about islamic actions, immigration and birth rates.

Several islamist law students took the magazine in front of the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal. They complained that the story may lead to anti muslim actions by people and therefore Macleans magazine was guilty of human rights abuse.

The islamist students demanded that Macleans be punished and forced to print a retraction.

Needless to say this was scary for anyone who values free speech and human rights.

Macleans magazine in the very next article published many letters to the editor that presented the opposite point of view. They provided people an outlet far greater than usual.

An interesting twist to this affair, the students never said the article was wrong in terms of the facts only that the article might lead to anti muslim thoughts and actions.

Well thankfully calm head won the day and the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal ruled that there was no case.

Once again we see that the islamists will use anything as a weapon : a gun, an airplane or a court room in the never ending war they openly have declared against anyone and everyone who does not give up their freedom of thought and blindly submit to the "prophet" mohammed.

I would tell you all of the things that moderate muslims said against the islamists who were attempting to limit free speech in Canada, unfortunately I heard nothing. This leads me to wonder if it is a case of the moderates being afraid to speak out or maybe, just maybe there are no moderates.
