in response to reader comment: This is exactly why Islam is a mess.

Good Afternoon Jennifer,

I appreciate a prompt response with all the due respect for your opinion as I expect for my own.

Will try to give my comments one by one;

"Had WWII not been won by the U.S.A. and her allies, one, possibly two totalitarian dictatorships would now rule Europe and Asia, and, quite possibly, much of the world. Or would you rather have had the Jewish race completely removed from the face of the earth?

Viet Nam was lost because the U.S. DID NOT "carpet bomb" North Viet Nam.

Would you rather the Taliban still keep women under house arrest, perform public hanging and stoning of women, held in the local soccer stadium?"

This is all difference of theory and philosophy; let me explain,

1 - no dout that Hitler, saddam were dictators ; but it dosent meant that to remove the dictators we will ruin the populations and kill the innocent kids and women and elders who are not fighting with any one, no law allows this action from UNO or any relegion, how we will feel if it will happen with us? for sure we will not support the carpet bombing than.

2 - The actions done by Dictators saddam or hitler or Musharraf were as wrong as being done on any other place, I think we should be impartial when talking about rights and wrongs, other wise it is batter to say that I am the only truth and only I have the right to survive.

3 - Talking about dictators? who are these guys? Musharraf, Shah Iran, Shah Husain of Jordan, Shah Saood, Jamal Nasir, Hasni Mubarak....a list of 100s. why there was no action against these Dictators? are we practicing dual theories in our interest? or we want to support the truth?

Pakistan? Refresh my memory, when was the last time the U.S. "carpet bombed" Pakistan?

There are so many killings going on by dictator Musharraf

"I read the first part of your letter, Faiz, and was thinking to myself, wow, here is an articulate, level-headed Muslim who is presenting a surprising and intelligent rebuttal based on his religious beliefs. Perhaps, I thought, Daniel Pipes' ideas of modernizing Islam is not so far-fetched after all.

You then went on to blow your point to smithereens. Too bad. For a moment there, you had me going."

Still I thought that you misunderstood my opinion, I am insisting on my words because practicing something with "Jihallah" and trying to know the real Islamic Shariah rules are two differant things.

"By the way, you haven't read "The Prince" by Machiavelli, have you? "

you are right I didnt.

At last I am again inviting every one to study Islam directly from the orignal text of Quraan and Hadith rather than making a very weak openion based on rumers and wrong doings of some Jahil muslims who never read the Quran and hadieth, try to understand the change happening in the hearts of newly converted muslims,

Allways with you

May God will give us the courage to follow the true path of Ibraham and Jesus. Ameen
