There is no special negative opinion about dogs in Torah (what the Christians call "Old Testament" or Bible). It's unclean, not more than camel, horse, rabbit or any other animal that is forbidden to eat by the Almighty G-d. BTW it's forbidden to Jews, but other nations can eat it.
