Reader comment on item: Resisting Islamic Law
in response to reader comment: The word Jihad and Sheikh Ahmad

Submitted by Imam Ahmed (United States), Apr 2, 2008 at 11:33

Yes not eating pork is my Jihad. I grew up eating it. So It has been a struggle for me to refrain from it. Is that so hard to believe. It would be the same as a person quitting to smoke, of course cigarettes far more addicting than pork...... maybe, somthing about not having bacon in the morning can really make or break a day. Look, I'm not looking for an arguement, all I'm trying to do is give people more insight on Islam as I practice it. It's easy to judge a persons beliefs from a third persons point of view, but once you get to know a Muslim personally, you may have a change of opinion.
