Mansoor, You Reek of Irony

Reader comment on item: Resisting Islamic Law
in response to reader comment: What is Liberty and Freedom of Speech

Your senseless diatribe is a perfect example of the souless tribalist bull that is so often spouted in comparative Islamist apologies.

It is unbelievable that you would bring up some of the examples that you list under our "freedoms". That a person, in defense of the Taliban and other such animals, would talk of killing innocents begs rational belief. Millions of innocent children have not been killed on the "charge of connection with Taliban" or any other charge by Western actions.

On the other hand, on Jun 12, 2007 Taliban associated gunmen on motorbikes sprayed a girls' school with bullets killing two pre-adolescent girls for the crime of going to school. While some parents will turn their daughter out of their house sleeping with her boyfriend it is the Muslim girl who is likely to be killed by her father and brothers.

Your commonly voiced condemnation of "insult(s to) any body's beloved and ideal figure" and the collorary justification of the barbaric behaviour throughout the Islamic world at the "disgusting cartoons", many of which were Muslim forgeries designed to incite further violence, is a childish tantrum considering the far worse insults issued by Islam. This is not a criticism of extemists. Were Sura 4, Ayah 171 written about rather than by Islam it would be used to justify a world wide blood frenzy. The Dome on the Rock where that screed is scrawled on the entrance wall is build in a location that would be akin to dozing the Kabah to make room for a Mormon Temple.

Anyone who makes their life public has to expect to have that life publicly scrutinized. When public comments are untrue and slanderous they are dealt with harshly by the courts. When they are true and scandlous they should be publicly proclaimed - all the more so for one who claims by his integrity the right to govern. And, for the record, Bill Clinton - and none other - brought disgrace and shame on himself.

The love of Liberty, especially Freedom of Speech, is the foundational principle that has put the standard of Life in the West so much higher than that of the Middle East. It is a gift from God; one that is all the more precious because He established it using our hands. You and yours have been trying to put your foot on it for years and eventually you will go far enough to be taken seriously. That will be the first day of a Crusade that will make your head spin. Pray that, by that day, you have already gone to Hell to meet your maker.

See, you are not the only one who can play with hyperbole.
