Reader comment on item: Resisting Islamic Law
in response to reader comment: Beth, obedience to God's Law, does not make you a fanatic

Of course we were given free will... the will to choose freely whether or not we will follow god's law. The consequences will definitely follow, but we ARE free to choose. This is the reason Satan was banished from heaven. He wanted to force mankind to follow God. God wanted us to come to him of our own free will. It is also the reason Eve was able to tempt Adam with the apple and why Adam was able to take the bite that put is all into sin.

As far as the Gospel being taken from the earth for a time. It may not have been stated exactly in those words, I will search and locate some of the passages and post them here, but it makes reference to the fact that we do not have the complete word of god and that it will be restored in the days before the end.

All of the prophets in the Bible ARE in fact, human. I did not say that they recorded things wrong... just possibly, they interpreted things a little differently than should have been. And a lot was certainly lost in the translation. THAT is the nature of humanity and the languages.

And I certainly did not say that following Gods law made anyone a fanatic. But there are people, in most all religions, that do things in the name of God that are anything BUT Godly. There are some that interpret the Bible in LITERAL terms, but since they did not live in those times, can not possibly KNOW the literal meaning of the things said. "an eye for an eye" If someone murders my son or daughter, then I must take an eye for an eye? I must murder one of their children in turn? Do you really think this is what God meant?

Anyway, I will find those passages and post them in this thread.
