simple question

Reader comment on item: Is Turkey Going Rogue?
in response to reader comment: Nonsense cannot be argued with

Mr 'Tim Lock' of Saudi Arabia - doesn't seem to appreciate that the Marmara had every intention of breaching Israeli waters. The fact that it was boarded when slightly outside of the demarcation zone is a side issue. The facts are that vessels heading for Israel/Gaza while shipping contraband - including weapons - have been routinely found by IDF boarding parties. In fact - Turkey itself has warned Israel of the approach of such vessels.

Mr. 'Tim' still doesn't quite get it that a weapon can be other than a gun. And if the IDF were going to kill the 'martyrs' - why did they not do so from the safety of their helicopters?

The simple question must be asked of Mr. 'Tim' of Saudia Arabia - which might be a real stretch for his imagination and no doubt totally against his biases - but were it possible for 'Tim' to trade places with one of those Israeli soldiers at that time.

Facing his imminent death - being outnumbered by a group of irate people intent on beating him to death with metal poles and having his service pistol at his side - what would 'Tim' - or any sane person - have done?
