Well Tim,

I find it hard that you cannot understand the reaction by the IDF. If the people on board the vessel co operated and let the IDF inspect the vessel, then they would of been able to claim that they were a humanitarian vessel stopped and searched in international waters. If the IDF then did any more to peaceful protesters the media would of had a field day. However, Muslim terrorists have in the past used Aid convoys to smuggle weapons into Gaza. So Tim, it would therefore be reasonable for the IDF to want to search this vessel. If there was no precedent for Muslim extremists hiding weapons amongst foreign Aid you may have a case, but you do not! Also, most terrorists who blow themselves up (and quite often IDF personel) shout out loud how they want to be Martyrs!!

Therefore it is reasonable for the IDF, confronted by a number of Muslims shouting how they want to die for Islam, assume they might want to die and take them along with them!!! Therefore they acted under the impression of a very real threat that was caused by the protesters acting in a incredibly STUPID and threatening manner. Now in the US, you don't yell at the police that you want to shoot them, especially if you do not have a gun. As any US cop will happily shoot first and ask questions later. They would be justified in the shooting cause the idiot said he wanted to shoot the Police. It is immaterial if they had a gun, it is the threat they are acting upon. It would be very different if the Police shot someone if they only thought they had a weapon but no provacation. It is exactly the same with this case and the IDF soldiers.

If a group of people start shouting Muslim slogans, act aggressively, and say they want to be martyrs, when being confronted by armed IDF personnel who are there looking for arms or explosives, then they are asking to be shot!! The precedence of Muslim protesters blowing themselves up in similar circumstances would make it only only legal, but sensible to grant these idiots their wish and for the IDF to shoot them. If someone started to shout at me they wanted to be a Martyr under similar circumstances, and I had a gun, I would probably shoot first and ask questions later too. If you stick your hand in a Lions mouth and it bites you, or you jump in front of a moving bus and it runs over you, who's fault is it?? I am saying if you start throwing objects at and shout in front of an armed Israeli soldier, that you want to die as a martyr, chances are he will shoot you.
