Israel's Reliance on Defense Cannot be Focused on US

in response to reader comment: Israel relying on the US

Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Oct 3, 2011 at 12:10

Increasingly, and much to the chagrin of the people (and not the errant government of the bureaucracy) of the United States, that a case can be made that Israel relying on the United States under the current administrative control is a circumstance that needs very careful determination to be more diligent and aware of who will actually comes to Israel's aid if they do find it necessary to defend themselves when no one else comes to their assistance.

The people are told one thing: another is being done. PM Netanyahu is not fool; he has dealt with the United States in a way that protects the support he does have, namely the prayers and good wishes of the people who know the truth about Israel; and takes every word of the government officials as the political double talk it can potentially mean.

Iran cannot be a first strike target; and Iran, I think is aware of that just as much as Israel is keen to keep from being targeted itself. But that is why Israel is being buffeted from all sides; all are potentially targeting Israel for various reasons. It is, after all, in the Scriptures. Iran would not have the guts to do it alone: and that is why Israel cannot focus on Iran alone.
