Turkey made the wrong choice, just like Germany in the 1930s

Reader comment on item: Is Turkey Going Rogue?

Submitted by Jayson Rex (Brazil), Sep 27, 2011 at 13:55

Also to be questioned is Turkey's position vs Israel. If at any time Turkey, under the Islamist government of Erdogan, tries again to send a flotilla to Gaza, Israel should wait for it to enter its internationally recognized home waters and then sink all ships, without exception. Any survivor should be arrested and thrown in jail for many years to serve as an example. Appeasement never worked and never will, especially with Islamists.

Rogue states in the Middle East are a dime a dozen. And Turkey is now part of the Middle East, not of Europe. Considering the many restrictions it dared to imposed on the Free World in its War on Terror, one should question "why is that Islamist country still part of NATO"?
