Reader comment on item: Is Turkey Going Rogue?
in response to reader comment: Turkey made the wrong choice, just like Germany in the 1930s

Except that Turkey made mistakes a long time before Hitler with the Ottoman genocide of 1.5 million Armenians, (which they even refuse to acknowledge to this day) it was the Turks who implemented deportations and mass marches during which many died of thirst and starvation, plus massacres of whole families. Rape and sexual abuse was also rife.I was warned 15 years ago by Armenians here in Europe never to trust the Turks. I hoped they were wrong, they apparently are not. BTW, I believe many Muslims world-wide expect the Ottomans to re-awaken as a fierce nation, the "Saviour" of Muslim "victim" nations ? May the God of Israel,Yahweh, who is not Allah, help us !
