New Definition of Ottoman Turkey Does Not Include Israel

Reader comment on item: Is Turkey Going Rogue?
in response to reader comment: Turks are redefining the legacy of the Ottomans

When viewed from a Turkish perspective, redefining its destiny from an Ottoman empire to its current status is not so nearly difficult as it is for western observances who look at Turkey as a defeated enemy in World War One. But think about it, of the former combatants that allied themselves with the German axis powers Turkey did not go so far away from its ideological roots that they are now resurgent, almost to the point of resilience-almost.

Definitely, the Turkey we see and hear from today is not the Ottoman empire of old, being a shadow of its former entity and extant. Yet, its fire of ideological purpose is rekindled in such a way that it would, indeed, be a mistake to underestimate the fuel of its aspirations and ambitions, so closely aligned with those of the Iranian revolution that it is somewhat difficult to distinguish who is shoving to the head of the line and who is pushing others out of the way.

Since it is no mystery that one of the driving ambitions of Turkey, in its alliance with Iran, is to deal definitively with Israel, THE major concern in the Middle East. But how, the question is asked? In the face of Turkey's increasing hostile attitude (whatever they claim is the provocation), Turkey is destined to come to its conclusive conflict with Israel. Unfortunately, it will not turn out well for Turkey if they insist on trying to redefine Israel.
