Question for Dr Pipes

Reader comment on item: Is Turkey Going Rogue?

Submitted by Jay1 (United States), Sep 27, 2011 at 18:42

Up until a dozen years ago Turkey was predictable and seemingly friendly. As a non expert of this country, might I ask Dr Pipes' opinion? Is the problem, ie the change in Turkey, a very widespread cultural phenomenon of Turkey, or is it an Erdogan, and a large cluster of like thinking following Turks?
