'Turning the other cheek' -What did Jesus really say?

Monsignor Velasio De Paolis is not preaching 'rebellion' against the Word of Christ when he says, "Enough now with this turning the other cheek!" The problem with the majority of 'churched' people is that we have been handed 'man made' versions and interpretations of the Spiritual Word of God, having no familiarity with the historical significance of many of the examples and statements Christ spoke to make a point.

To keep this short and to get to the 'point', go and read what Walter Wink has to say about the true meaning behind a number of things Christ said that the 'church' has assumed as teaching 'passivity'. There is a distinction to be made between 'non-violent resistance' and 'passivity'. Christians have made themselves a doormat for the wicked, which is NOT the example Christ gave us.

Go to: http://www.csec.org/csec/sermon/wink_3707.htm and learn what Christ was really telling us when He said 'turn the other cheek'.
