turning other cheek doesn't mean not confronting others

Reader comment on item: The Vatican Confronts Islam

Jesus said to turn the other cheek, he never said not to confront evil, or call it out for what it is.

To not tell these governments their actions are evil, or to blindly turn away, is not turning the other cheek, it's turning a blind eye to evil. Which is something Jesus never did, and would not advocate. That's just some bizarre neo-pacifism we have in the West, where we so believe in "peace" that we are even afraid to insult others or tell them the truth.

Jesus sure rebuked people when they needed it, without using violence. So should the west's pacifists rebuke the corrupt leaders of the mideast and africa. Not lie in bed with them like the see-no-evil monkeys, saving their rebukes only for the West. They become a pawn of evil when they do that.
