I wish that other public religious figures would speak out about the unspoken, the acts of barbarity committed against women, gays and others who are accused of blasphemy, apostasy. It is unconscionable that these so called religious figures do not feel the need to represent their faith and say loudly that these behaviors are not OK, that they are unacceptable and contemptible and cannot just be shoveled under the rug because they are somehow expressions of religious freedom.
