At last! Three cheers for the new pope!

Reader comment on item: The Vatican Confronts Islam

Submitted by Persia Gran-Freeland (United States), Jul 6, 2006 at 10:38

Now maybe there is hope. If the pope will stay strong in his position of not falling for the delusions some governments hold and stay realistic is his awareness of what what Islam intends for the entire world, maybe we can work to have representatives of every non-Muslim religion begin cooperating with each other to destroy the the cancerous encroachment of the Islamist goals on the Western world.

The first concern for the pope, it seems to me, is to put an irrefutable stop to the poisonous designs of stealing our Judeo-Christian cultural and religious heritage and history, Islamizing every religious figure in our two cultures, and lying to make them appear to be Muslim.

The hubris prompting such thievery is almost beyond comprehension and is monstrous in the extreme. For this alone, they deserve to be outcasts in every society in the world.

But then, that is what Islamic history is all about--the destruction of more developed cultures and theft of other peoples' accomplishments, goods, men, women, and children rather than creating achievements of their own, getting off their respective duffs, and doing some work at creating decent societes of their own in which to live.

Do you have the pope's email address? I would love to send him a congratulatory email.

Daniel Pipes replies:

It so happens I do have the pope's e-mail address: benedictXVI@vatican.va.

Am I the only one to find it amusing that, after nearly two millennia, the pope has an e-mail address?
