Thank you, sir, for your comments. May I correct two mistaken assumptions? First, I am not "paranoid". There are places in the world that produce martyrs on a daily basis How arrogant are we to assume it won't ever "come here"? If you prefer to see "the glass half-full", I respect that. But, I do think you're being unrealistic.

Secondly, you quoted a song that talks about being "afraid" (I assume it goes on to say that we bring upon ourselves whatever we fear; I'm not familiar with the song). Not so. Long ago and far away, as a young adult, a pastor used the line in his sermon, "If people were being arrested for being Christians, would there be enough evidence to convict you?" I didn't hear the rest of the sermon; I spent some time mulling over that question. My conclusion: I would live the rest of my life in such a way that there would be no need for a trial or evidencury hearing. He who would kill me would do me the biggest favor imaginable, sending me straight into the arms of God as a martyr.

Lastly, I agree with your position on keeping prayer and theology out of public schools. In a society drunk on "diversity", our children/grandchildren would not be taught Christian prayer/theology. They would be taught Hinduism, Islamism, Buddhism, even Satanism--but never Christianity. I taught my children that the intimacy that calls one to prayer is all interior: you can pray anywhere, at any time, and no one has to know unless you tell them. (The way we live out that intimacy is the exterior part.) My children are teaching their children, who are quietly teaching their friends. I'm very proud of them.

So, thank you, dear Pastor, for being willing to share your views. Please remember mine.
