Non-Muslims ALWAYS a lower ranking mortal

Reader comment on item: The Vatican Confronts Islam

Submitted by Hannah (United States), Jul 5, 2006 at 17:45

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that a non-muslim is always a lower ranking mortal in the eyes of Islam? I read that non-muslims can live in a muslim country ONLY if they accept this lowly position. If this is so and has been for certuries...why would Christians not getting equal rights/protection in an Islamic state come as any surprise to any church especially the Catholic Church who has a history with these people? After all, they were the only game in town until King Henry VIII! Has no one noticed the destruction of churches in a vast number of Islamic countries? Kidnapping and selling Christian children into slavery...not to mention just out and out murder? Just a passing thought...
