"Paranoia Strikes Deep, Into Your..."

Reader comment on item: The Vatican Confronts Islam
in response to reader comment: What 'more hospitable environment'?

You remember the song. "...into your heart it will creep. It's starts with you're always afraid...." You write, "The prospect of persecution in our "free" society grows daily." And, "Western governments have all made it clear that any religious practice except Hedonism is unwarranted and unwelcomed."

You think so? Not me. I think religious freedom grows daily. And, that Western governments are sticking their noses less and less into religion and that that's a good thing!

I pastored churches for decades, till I retired, and always said that I would agree to not preaching trigonometry (or try to spell it) if the public schools didn't teach theology--and praying in school is teaching theology. I often wondered--What part about giving to Ceasar what is Ceasar's and to God what is God's do folks not understand?

You add, "And I have to ask, What more 'hospitable' environment?"

The one outside your front door, sir.
