Reader comment on item: The Vatican Confronts Islam

Submitted by québéquoise (Canada), Jul 6, 2006 at 16:19

the vatican must stay away from politics. I do not like to see Vatican used in political issues or to see the vatican interfering in other nations' internal affaires. now again religion is mixed with politics..also vatican has no mandate to become catholic's protectorate. it is only observer in UN...

the civilized nations do speak for one religion or sect..civilized nation should speak for human rights in general not catholic rights..sad that some people of responsible position speak these day with the same method like the war lords in afganistan..so sad..

i was tourist in many muslim countries many times before from tunisia to maroc to iran to turkey..what de paolis says does not make sense..or may in some country like saudi arabia may be true but all of us know who is real friend of saudi arabia..is america true or not?

maybe if we admit de paoli comment, muslim countries then should have the right to interfere in israel muslims and in russian muslims and even american and chinese muslim affairs.
