Mr.Rahman

I am not surpised that as an Bengali Islamist, you close your eyes to the genocide committed on your nation by your co-religionists of Islamic State of Pakistan and you claim complete ignorance.

This is the figures given by different newspapers as the war progressed in 1971 between the incipient nation of Bangladesh and the Islamic state of Pakistan

Who reported When Number in
reported millions

The Baltimore Sun 5/14/71 0.5
The Momento, Caracas 6/13/71 0.5 - 1.0
Washington Daily News 6/30/71 0.2
World Bank Report June, 71 0.2
Die Zeit, Bon 7/9/71 0.5
New York Times 7/14/71 0.20 - 0.25
Wall Street Journal 7/23/71 0.2 - 1.0
The Christian Sci. Mon 7/31/71 0.25 - 1.00

This genocide has also been studied by academics who have no axe to grind against islam

See Dr.Rummel's website 'Powerkills' which has made a non-political studies of genocides throught history. See the Pakistani genocide section http://www.hawaii.edu/powerkills/SOD.CHAP8.HTM

You can read the whole chapter to find out how he arrived at his figures

His conclusion after a detailed study of all sources "After a well organized military buildup in East Pakistan the military launched its campaign. No more than 267 days later they had succeeded in killing perhaps 1,500,000 people, created 10,000,000 refugees who had fled to India, provoked a war with India, incited a counter-genocide of 150,000 non-Bengalis, and lost East Pakistan"

How come Islamists like you don't want to acknowledge the genocide carried out by your 'Islamic brothers' because that will be bad PR for islam. But this is not a lone case. In Sudan, hundreds of thousands of black Africans have been killed or driven out of their homes by Islamic government in Khartoum. People like you, who can spend their time in burning Daish flags or Pope's effigies on alleged 'insult to islam' connive at Islamist genocides by claiming ignorance.

>. Our liberation war of 1971 was on political grounds. Some historians term it as a civil war. It was never >onducted on the basis of religion. The Pakistan Army even never claimed it a religious war. To bring in >slam in this conflict is historically wrong and only proves Mr Vijoy's ignorance.

Islam is an operative factor because

a. Pakistan then and now is an Islamic state

b. bengali Muslims, who have taken up causes like Palestine or Chechniya or Danish cartoons or Pope, which has nothing to do with your nation, maintain a deafening silence about genocide committed by their co-religionsist against themselves.

c. Even in Pakistan, in those days, it was called a 'Jihad' to maintain a unified country.

But this is not an isolated case. Black Muslims can talk endlessly about slavery of Africans by whites in the 18th, 19th centuries. But they have not a single word of condemnation for the islamic slavery of black Africans which has been going on for a greater length of time till today, involving even more Africans
