Hossam Zayed's story about Muhammad reflects poorly on Muhammad

Dear Dr Pipes,

It seems Muslims are brainwashed to admire everything about Islam and Muhammad and they cannot see things objectively. Your reader Hossam Zayed reports a story about Muhammad in which Muhammad cried when a Jewish neighbor of Muhammad died. According to the story the neighbor threw trash in front of Muhammad's house every day but Muhammad thanked him for his 'gifts'. Forgiving a neighbor's misdeeds is common. It is good but it does not qualify you to be a great man. I ignore my neighbor's loud music every day. But that is not the end of the story. What is reported further is that Muhammad cried because the neighbor died before he could be converted to Islam. I am not saying it. It is reported by Hossam Zayed.

If it is true it reflects very poorly on Muhammad. Even at the time of neighbor's death Muhammad was busy thinking about conversion to Islam and was not praying for peace for the dead soul. This is about as bad as it gets. Muhammad's reaction to his neighbor's death was not worthy of admiration at all. At least according to my human wisdom.
