It is allowed during his time, but there are time where the slaves do good deeds, they are freed, and later Allah send firman to Prophet Muhammad to let free all slaves. Islam at Prophet time was not spread as a revolution. Slowly what is wrong in the people's culture was asked by Allah to be stopped by using hikmah approach not by force.

Every religion teach human being to be good. Lets go deep into our own believe instead of finding faulty in others. Then only we will life in peace.
