A Tangential Comment about Islam.....

As a practicing Jew who works with, and actually has Muslim colleagues and friends...Something about Islam disturbs me deeply. I suppose after I write this...my Muslim cousins will try to put a Fatwa on my head...but here goes:

The Jewish religion is a Universalist belief...That is...Non-Jews who follow the seven Noachide Laws are guaranteed a place in the next world. Judaism doesn't preach that if you don't believe in Yeshu or Mohammed, you don't get to heaven...We believe that G-d is everyone's King, Creator, and Father.

Here's my dilemma...As a practicing Jew...of my own volition, I believe that the words of Torah that G-d gave to our teacher, Moses, on Mt Sinai, are true and have not changed in over 5000 years! Our Torah states that our father Abraham took his son, our father Isaac, and bound him on Mount Moriah as "The Akeidah." Islam states that Ishmael, not Isaac, was the Akeidah. In my opinion, this is blasphemy and defammation of the holy word of G-d. Although this disturbs me greatly...I'm not out declaring Jihad and decapitating infidels that blaspheme the Torah.

My point is, how long would I survive if I told this to my moderate Muslim friends? Just a thought....
