Ummushafeera: Thank you for your comments and interest in scriptures. I have studied both the bible and the Koran extensively for 3 years and I have found some real differences in what is loving and peaceful, and the violence that is displayed in Islam.

Please take note:

The Bible, Matthew 5:42 Jesus says "You have heard that it was said, Love your neighbor and hate your enemy. (But I tell you: (Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your father in heaven. Christians are to pray for their fellow man, not ambush and attack them.

The Koran: Sura XLVIL- Muhammad When ye encounter the infidels, strike off their heads till ye have made a great slaughter among them, and of the rest make fast the fetters.

Sura IX Immunity And when the sacred months are passed, kill those who join other god, (This means anyone who does not accept Islam) wherever ye shall find them; and seize them, besiege them and lay wait for them with every kind of ambush: but if they shall convert, and observe prayer, and pay the obligatory alms, then let them go their way, for God is gracious and merciful. This means accepting Islam by force.

How can any God, or any religion justify what these scriptures say, who are peace loving?

Excuse me this does not seem merciful to me, that anyone would be attacked because they worship another religion, including striking off our heads.

The Bible, Ephesians 4:32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as Christ forgave you.

Please tell me which verses represent peace, love, and mercy, and which demonstrate violence, and death. I would welcome your comments. I wonder if you heard Mosab Hussan's interview on Fox news. Son to one of the leaders of Hamas. He left Islam and is now a Christian. He stated how Islam was very contradictory, and they even kill and torture their own people. I believe that many people need to investigate the Koran and read the scriptures and see what they actually say.

Thank you, Anne A.
