Booze in a Taxi?Reader comment on item: Don't Bring That Booze into My Taxi Submitted by Jay (United States), Oct 13, 2006 at 00:42 Dr Pipes is right to suggest that Minneapolis is somewhat erasing the line of seperation of church and state when it tries to rectify a very religious belief by some, towards all..At least thats what I think he's saying. And he further suggests that where the capitulation begins may be dwarfed by where it could end. I agree. This is what happens when a situation exists where people dont follow an up to now unspoken principle of America. That is that being American means forgetting a bit about yourself and your past heritage. At least to the degree when it is extreme and or interacts with others. What you do peacefully on your time is still OK. Its an important point to make here because extreme religious based behavior often takes on a life of its own that knows no bounds. When it's within your own soul its between you and your God. And those are the bounds. When it flies into the public its between your God and the public salad soul. What people of fundamentalist and extreme belief and public behavior should understand is that at some point the public feels as the outsider in a world that he or she thought they knew. And then they wonder. Do I want me and my luggage to be in a Taxi with a person who has such a major problem with things like booze in a taxi?
