Violation of 1964 Civil Rights Act

Reader comment on item: Don't Bring That Booze into My Taxi

Submitted by Andy B. (United States), Oct 10, 2006 at 14:43

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination in public facilities on the basis of religion and national origin.

Obviously, some Muslims would like to use this law to further their own goal of replacing the US Constitution with Shariah law, if we are dumb enough to let them get away with it.

However, I believe that the law ought to be interpreted ( or amended, if need be) to protect persons practicing American culture from being discriminated against in the USA.

Seeing eye dogs and carrying liquor bottles in transport in public facilities, like airports, ought to be protected since this is a traditional part of American culture.
