Ianus, your point is well taken. This is how I understand this issue, though. Hamas wants to exterminate Israel because it has the audacity to insist on existing AS A JEWISH STATE in the middle of Dar al Islam.

If the Israelis would consent to give up their rule of the Jewish state, they would be allowed to exist as dhimmis UNDER Islamic law with Hamas running the show.
