Muslim world is heading for confrontation

Reader comment on item: [The Hamas Electoral Victory:] Democracy's Bitter Fruit

In One of his previous article titled "Neo-conservatives caution"Dr Pipes suggested US administration to go slow on its policy of democratisation in Middle Easten States. Last one years election results in Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq and now in Palestine proves how much Dr Pipes was right in his assessment. One other point which he raised there was also of also importance. He said democracy is an attitude. I am very much convince with him on this point .

It is true that you can not impose democratic values on anyone only by giving him democratic constitution and democratic rule of Laws untill that community does not prepare to accept the basic principles of democracy. Democracy is a way of life which manifests in rules and Laws only when community or Country behaves in democratic way.

Whatever result we have witnessed in recent months in some of Muslim countries is manifestation of inner will and attitude of people of those countries. Rulers of these countries were very familiar with secular and democratic values of west but citizens of these countries were not of the view of their rulers and when they get chance to show their verdict they show whole world what they think and what they want.

It is testing time for West. They should give some serious rethinking on their strategy about Mid Eastern nations. Keeping high regard for Dr Pipes I an unable to convince myself from his assessment that failure of democratization process in Mid East has nothing to do with Islam or cultural factor. Being Indian and fellow citizen of vast Muslim population I can say it with full sincerity that Muslims around the world do not have any respect for democratic values they are only exploiting the lacuna of democratic system to push Islamist agenda. For a moment if I accept that democratic process in MidEast brought Islamists in power because of immaturity of that reason but what about those mature democracies where Muslim population keep high regard for Shariat above constitution of respective democracies. Lot of examples can be put to prove this point from Europe only.

Victory of Hamas is a clear signal from Muslim world as they are inching towards confrontation . Regime of Ahmadinejad already has blocked all the possible ways of negotiations and now Hams will create a lot of problems for Israel because both have common agenda to destroy Jews nation. Hatred against Jews and Israel is pivotal to Islamic terrorism , as much encouragement they will get in Israel as strong they will emerge in their Pan-Islamic agenda for Khilafat. Now it is high time for west in general and US in particualr to give some serious rethinking about their combat policy of War on terror because this time war is not launched from any organised state and also it has support of theology .
