No chance of BJP federal return

Reader comment on item: Is Turkey's Government Starting a Muslim Reformation?
in response to reader comment: BJP may get the power back

  • Advani (80+ years old, and not good reputation) is federal leader
  • BJP has failed to gain power in UP (biggest state, grossly, in population)
  • Also, only with ally (Shiv Sena) were briefly part of economic centre Maharashtra government; Shiv Sena leader Thackeray's dismissal of State CM nailed coffin of both parties in that state
  • Their chief plank is Ayodhya, of no interest to most Hindus
  • If they attempt to run on issue of "Congress corruption", their own then gets revealed and clobbers them
  • government of Karnataka is precarious, can survive so long as State BJP presents absolute unity (generally not achievable) AND opposition is divided (generally true anyway)
