I am sure the term "Philhellenism" is totally unknow to you, Turkish barbarian, but it was a big and potent ideal in the Europe of renaissance, Enlightenment and Romanticism. At that time Europe had enough decency and self-preservation instinct to profess Philhellenism as it did in the days of 1821.

Who else beside the Hellenes was ready to force the perfidious and genocidal Turks ( they had exterminated 1,5 mln Armenians since 1915 and then slowly but systematically 1 mln Greeks and blamed the victims for Turkish own crimes - as always good Moslems do) to respect the 1918 Mudros cease-fire agreement and later the 1920 Sevres peace terms?

The British were exhausted, the French too and dreaming rather of a secure - from the Greek and British "threat" - Syrian protectorate without Cilicia while the Italians were angry at the allies for the deceptions after 1918. The Philhellenic choice was obvious and necessary. The Turkish methods of terrorizing weren't needed at all. REALLY! To remind you the basic historical facts, barbarian! The jihadist country Greece allegedly didn't fight in WWI was the worst enemy of Hellenism and Europe for more than 1000 years!

In May 1919 the war to liberate Hellenism in Asia Minor and return the land and rayas lost to this never-ending Turkish jihad started but the initiative wasn't Greek. It was the prinicpal weakness of the Greeks. It was a mission on behalf of the Entente that turned out to support its own declared enemy! They had to listen to orders from London and Paris. And the orders given there arrived both on a tortuous path at Ancara and Athens.

< Or was it Lloyd George playing you against the Italians for the islands? And you ate it all up.>

No! It was Kemal playing the angry Italians against the British and the Greeks whom they envied every success, every km of reconquered holy prehistorical Hellenic soil. The Italians supported Kemal also as he was clever enough to promise them a sphere of influence in the South of Asia Minor and economic concessions. Kemal never intended to fulfill either but the trick worked. Beaten Turkish brigands always fled to the Italians who gave them a safe haven. The Kemalist troops were equipped through the ports controlled by the Italians.
