Reader comment on item: Is Turkey's Government Starting a Muslim Reformation?
in response to reader comment: what is wrong with islam

Islam is based in 6th-century/7th-century Arab ethos--and thus includes the Arabs' deep-set hatred against Jews (and lesser degree, other non-Arabs), which likely preceded the advent of Islam. As you stated, Islam is not reformable (due to its refusal to accept that it needs reform), as demonstrated by:

  • Damascus Blood Libel, a trumped-up (by al-Husseini family--to which the late Yasir "AIDS" Arafat claimed relationship) charge (that Jews need the blood of Muslim boys to prepare Pescah matzohs) run through Ottoman court system many times between 1453 and 1918--and always, the Turks (Muslims, same religion as al-Husseinis) dismissed the charges even opining that they were "buffoon-forged".
  • Haj-amin Husseini's incitement of 1920 Nabi-Musa riots in Jerusalem; note that this was prior to his first contact with Adolf Hitler
  • Haj-amin Husseini's 1936 signing of blood-covenant with Hitler, and his help in recruitment of Kosovar and Bosnian SS troops for "Hanzar" regiments
  • Other Arabs' political support of Nazi movement and Hitler regime
  • Husseini's post-WW2 ideology of "completing Hitler's 'final solution'", still held sacred by "Palestinians", both of Fatah and Hamas
  • Arabs' (Egypt and Syria) granting refuge to Alois Brunner post-1955
  • Saudi Arabia's granting of asylum to evil Idi Amin, a syncretist of Islam with Kakwa (his own tribe) traditions; three prominent Ugandan leaders--current President Yoweri Museveni (Nyankole), opposition candidate Kezza Besigye (Ganda) and LRA rebel leader Joseph Kony (Acholi) all charge Amin with horrendous crimes (this agreement is despite of their mutual tribal-group-based loathing)
While Hindus can be creditted with admitting their religions' faults (and need for reform; indeed, this is part of the stated goals of the fanatical Vishwa Hindu Parishad), they have also not learned from the many efforts of reforming these on human terms--the basis of the efforts' failure.

In summary, Islam is based upon hatred while Hindu religions are actually based on the Sub-continent's underlying cultures.
