in response to reader comment: We can introduce shari'a in Turkey immediately and join openly the global jihad against the West and Israel.

The Greeks didn't gamble anything in 1919, man! They were formally asked by the Entente to intervene to help implement the Mudros cease-fire terms of October 1918. It was not a Greek-Turkish , but an Entente-Turkish war. The decisions to attack were taken in London and Paris, not in Athens. The Greeks lost because the Entente (France and Italy and later even England) and the US betrayed them and collaborated openly with the Kemalists.

Really? I mean REALLY? So the Entente put a gun to your collective heads and forced you to invade a country that you didn't fight with in WWI? Or was it Lloyd George playing you against the Italians for the islands? And you ate it all up.

You are talking about how you were 40 km away from Ankara (which I guess corresponds to "we were nearly going to take Vienna" talk of our bonehead nationalists), Were there any Greeks there? What the hell were you doing there anyway? If it was the idea of the Entente why did you pull troops from the mainland to threaten the British and the French to invade Istanbul (or Constantinople , I wouldn't want to hurt your feelings) and piss them off? Deny it as much as you want ("British abandoned us , Soviets supported you, the dog ate our cannons , blah blah blah")but it was your desire for conquest that led to what happened, not the Entente. There were many, many times, when you could have backed off during 1918-22 but you didn't. All in the name of your precious megali idea.

You are talking about our autocracies. Have you ever tried reading about what you did from the minute you set foot to Anatolia? What did you do to the Turkish villages while you were retreating? Try Toynbee's writings for starters.

Since we were so atrocious against you, how was Venizelos able to come to Turkey and sign a friendship treaty in 1930, just 8 years after we "commited genocide" against the Greeks?

You talk about "Turkish fascism". Yet, Ataturk, apart from implementing his civil reforms, actually tried to open other political parties and sought good relations with our neighbors (Greece , Iraq and until it was impossible, the Soviets). You know just the sort of stuff other fascist leaders did !!.

So supposedly, you are going to gang up on us with Russia (last time I checked Russians were doing a whole lot of business with us and were pretty happy, but let's ignore that for a second). Then what? Start a war? Take the land back? Will you be able to live with us? Drive us away? Cause, umhh.. you know, that would be against the geneva conventions and UN charter. And we would be still be the "barbarian Turks" after that? Do you even believe what you are writing?

Article 301 is a sore spot , I'll give you that. But it will be gone pretty soon.

And lastly, doesn't it bother you to have so much hatred for a whole group of people? You never met me but can call me a "barbarian" without a second though. I am curious to how you'd actually interact with a Turk in real life if you were to meet one? Start fighting? Turn back and walk away while wallowing in your hubris?
