Reader comment on item: Recruiting Soldiers Against Radical Islam
in response to reader comment: Those who will say Islam as a religion is a problem are simply ignorant and biased!

Incorrect Hassan, this is Islam:

Imagine a tribe. It has its own very strict and unchangeable rules of social conduct and a very strong tribal identity. The tribe is extremely xenophobic, is prone to violence
Females of the tribe are considered tribal property. No-one may leave the tribe except under pain of death, or at least ostracism. Males may seek females from outside the tribe to marry into the tribe. Females, as tribal property may not marry out of the tribe.

Members of the tribe join a modern society.
As the no. of tribal members grow they begin to coalesce into their tribal form:
They seek to reassert their tribal identity. First separation of tribal children from society: http://tinyurl.com/ywfdpe
Second as abrogation from the Law of the Society: http://tinyurl.com/gxmwp
Then as complete tribal culture - http://tinyurl.com/2vrvh8

Xenophobia in the tribe increases
The Xenophobia of the tribe is not shared by all members of the tribe, however the cause of the xenophobia (feelings of cultural superiority, feelings that outsiders are inferior) is. Furthermore the expression of this xenophobia as violence is not done by all members of the tribe.

Violence and crime directed at non-tribal members increases - cleansing the ghetto of non-tribal members:

http://tinyurl.com/cj3cv
http://tinyurl.com/usjro
http://tinyurl.com/yuu2c5
Finally the tribe sets up ghettos which are under tribal rule: http://tinyurl.com/32utrp

Ghettos controlled by the tribe are no longer accessible to the State:
http://tinyurl.com/vnep
http://tinyurl.com/yun77g

Tribal populations grow through:
Immigration from primitive tribal areas: http://tinyurl.com/yuwr3n
High Population Growth as females are treated as baby making machines:
http://tinyurl.com/y2zxkv
http://tinyurl.com/2eua7l
Coercion of Non-tribe members to join tribe: http://tinyurl.com/38cksd
Males of the tribe marrying non-tribal females, raising tribal children, divorcing the females at 40 and then marrying tribal females:

Tensions within the State increase as the Tribal populations grow:

Violence directed towards Non-tribal members becomes systematic:

Violence is shown on both sides, with a greater propensity for violence shown by the (more primitive, cohesive and prone to violence ) tribe:
Larger areas under the control of the tribe rather than mere ghettos form:
http://tinyurl.com/ry8co

Non Tribal Members of the Society Flee, further increasing the tribal population as percentage of society.
http://tinyurl.com/yurnq9
As Violent Tribal Members grow in strength, state is less and less able to take control and appeases them:
http://tinyurl.com/26b3ff

The Tribe becomes a majority within the society and changes rules of society to comply with its rules:
http://tinyurl.com/2fwast

Massacres of Non-Tribal peoples by tribal people occur, the State turns a blind eye.

State Sanctioned massacres of Non-Tribal People occur.
Turkey:
http://tinyurl.com/ysyvwn
Indonesia
http://tinyurl.com/2frllu
Pakistan:
http://tinyurl.com/2mkyng
Afghanistan:
http://tinyurl.com/2mkyng

The Remaining Non-Tribal people are tolerated in society, discriminated against:

live as second class citizens and gradually reduce in no. by emigration, forced conversion etc.
http://tinyurl.com/2d8ohk
http://tinyurl.com/25fk55
Emigration:
http://tinyurl.com/3c2n57

Any particular event causing Religious fervour in the tribe gets them out to kill off significant numbers of the remaining minority and forcing others to emigrate.

With no significant non-tribal people left to massacre, tribal people start making distinctions within the tribe:
(e.g. killing Shia, Ahmadis etc.)
