Reader comment on item: Recruiting Soldiers Against Radical Islam

Submitted by Donald W. Bales (United States), Apr 2, 2007 at 16:18

I perceive that the civilized world is in World War IV. (I call the Cold War-it got rather hot in Korea and in Vietnam-World War III). My concern is that so many in Europe and in the U.S. do not seem to know it. Talk about a fifth column-every country in the West has one (or more). There were on 80 million Germans, maybe 50 million Italians (although they were not much of a threat-they even had trouble with Ethiopia), maybe 90 million Japanese. How many were there in the USSR at its peak (150 to 100 million)? Not all of the 1.3 billion Muslims are radical, but a lot of them are and a good many more-if not supportive-are not resistant to terrorism and violence. They also have money-Petrodollars, plenty of oil, a religious revival that they are exploiting, and don't forget all the "Useful Idiots" that they have in the West.
