Islamic fundamentalism is the new facsism

What is fascism? it is an ideology which represses dissent and minorities. It is an ideology which enforces police state control on its citizens. it is an ideology which forces people to join acceptable proscribed institutions which glorify and support the ruling party and the ruling party itself is a committee of those who set the rules and command the enforcers of those rules. It uses storm troopers to attack and deny public opposition. This is exactly what Iran is, what Afganistan was and what is envisioned for Muslim states by the fundamentalists. The rulers are mullahs and those who reflect fundamentalist mullah ideas such as Osama bin Laden and the current president of Iran. The Iranian Revolutionary Guards are the storm troopers.

In Saudi Arabia, there are police whose specific job is to enforce proper "moral' behavior which translates in the subjugation of women. A woman out alone or with an unmarried male non-relative or dressed in anyway deemed unacceptable by the State is a terrified victim of arrest and whatever punishment the State deems it to be. Fascist states always become war machines. We see it in Hezbollah, in Iran, in Saddam's Iraq, another perfect fascist state. Democracy is impossible. If it exists and in an election the majority choose the religious fundamentalists, that is the end of democracy because now the population will be molded the way "Islam" meant them to exist. There can be no deviation from that path. It is Fascism in every detail and at every turn. Pipes says there has not been fascism since 1945. he is dead wrong on this, and I believe in consideration he will agree that Islamic Fundamentalism is Fascism to its very core.
