Importance of Pakistan

Reader comment on item: Will Europe Resist Islamization?

Submitted by Novus Ordo Secular (United States), Apr 13, 2008 at 04:18

Pakistan in my view is the most important country in the world today. It will ultimately cause the eradication of fundamentalist Islam, so its historic significance cannot be undermined.

Today Pakistan is the lair of fundamentalist Islam, the root of jehad, the hotbed of anarchy and the breeding ground of terror. Today Pakistan is at the forefront of making the rational world loose its patience with tolerence.

One of the two things will happen, Pakistanis become fed up with all the extremism and identify how radicalism as screwed up their economy and embrace secularism, tolerence and progress through science and technology or they become more fundamental leading to Lahore and Karachi becoming another Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Either way, fundamentalism would end.
