How can America oppose "bureaucratic leftism"?

Reader comment on item: Europe vs. America

Submitted by François Guillaumat (Netherlands), Jan 19, 2003 at 09:56

It is quite true  that the basic reason for the European elites'  anti-Americanism  lies in their vested interest in bureaucratic leftism,  and their panic  at the idea  that the United States offers a much better alternative model to their electorates;  but who will draw  the necessary conclusion that the U.S.  should use their large resources to FIGHT  such bureaucratic leftism in Europe ?

Since  bureaucratic leftism uses  a vast apparatus of censorship through direct control and tax-subsidization (see for instance http://www.bbcbias.org/html/news_101.html),  that would be completely  justified,  and undoubtedly serve the common good.

Unfortunately,  bureaucratic leftism   has its own representatives  in America,  too.  It is even embedded  in several  anticonstitutional Government institutions,   like the Progressive Income tax — a fundamentally Marxist form of social discrimination,  or the Department of Education,  a massive  instrument of bureaucratic leftist censorship,  since only bureaucratic leftists can thrive under its authority.

This means that the criminal  and anti-democratic  character of bureaucratic leftism is not recognized in the U. S. either.   An that is why we are not going to hear Radio Free Europe extend its broadcasts to the French public,  on account  of its fundamentally unfree media :  what would they say,  since most journalists  are  themselves  bureaucratic leftist devotees?
