I would at any time prefer a state acting pragmatic and responsible rather than a state acting lightheaded and spontaneously aggressive, just because they fell and smacked their little heads on the pavement. To die for a cause is a beautiful act, but to die for it, just for the sake of dying is stupid. And before dying one should always ask oneself "Is this worth dying for?", which most modern beliefs aren't, since there always are options indeed more - pragmatic - than dying, in these days. To die for beliefs actually has a very beautiful name - Martyrdom - Perhaps you have heard of it before, Seth?
