Why do Europeans hate Americans? Be honest...Reader comment on item: Europe vs. America Submitted by Stephen (Japan), Aug 3, 2008 at 07:35 You need to look at the origins of this hate. Why is America hated? It's culture smothers our own cultures... and more importantly, inordinate patriotism and a frustrating habit of taking personally any criticisms on the US government has long been synonymous with being American. Criticising any European country's government has never been taboo. Yet many Americans don't see that their over-confidence, feigned moral superiority and holier-than-thou attitude regard to world affairs really does frustrate the world, unfortunately to the point of hate in some cases.
