Neo-communismReader comment on item: Europe vs. America Submitted by Peter Edgar (Australia), Jan 14, 2003 at 21:34 Bravo, Daniel Pipes! It is no accident that banners featuriing Stalin, Mao and Che Guevara appear in these street marches all around the world. The same holds true of marches against globalisation or war in Iraq. The marchers also carry red banners and red stars. The individuals involved (many of them at least) still believe in the socailist, collectivist dream. If only, they think, Trotsky (author of "In Defence Of Terrorism") had taken over the USSR after Lenin all would have been well. Look also at the Italian communist leader Antonio Gramsci and his urging of taking over the cultural roots of a civilisation to convert it to the desired form.
