Reader comment on item: Europe vs. America

Submitted by jamescaplan@hotmail.com (United States), Jan 14, 2003 at 10:27

Then, there is Oriana Fallaci......all emotion linked to odd tidbits of the resistance experience in the 40's......and, getting old. But, G-d, has she got balls.

Look, this is the old Oedipus experience with the son, the USA, taking place of the father, Europe. First, the son slew the Nazi; second, the son slew the Communist. Now the freed European can be the child, playing in the light and easy world the son created......and, in effect, now wanting somehow to displace and discredit the son and reclaim Mother Earth without doing the work.

Practical note.....about the worst thing I have had to think about in the last 24 hours....Joe Lieberman should just stay in the Senate. His decision is the worst thing that could have happened for humanism, Jews, and the USA. He will be another Rathenau. Stop Lieberman Now. The big money must be denied Lieberman now.

The last thing we need at this point in history is for anyone to mess with George W. Bush. If Bush is undermined.....and the liberal press, the press that has no sense of history, will surely do it if they possibly can.....the breath of humanism will be suffocated for years.
